As Co-Publisher and President, I oversaw a staff of designers, editors, and publicists and chose the slate of books to be published each season. I was also hands-on as an editor, creative consultant, and writer, collaborating with everyone from South Park writers to New York Times Crossword Editor Will Shortz, as well as authoring numerous books myself.
We forged relationships with distributors, manufacturers, and retailers to sell over 3,000,000 books.
THE OFFICIAL MOVIE PLOT GENERATOR
How do you use a few hundred words to create 27,000 jokes? By creating the The Official Movie Plot Generator, a flipbook of mix-and-match components to movies. Among the nearly endless combinations: “A cop who doesn't play by the rules becomes a nanny for an aristocratic family in the feel-good comedy of the year”; and “The ultimate crime-fighting indestructible cyborg raises a baby and, in the process, learns the true meaning of Christmas.” “Call it RoboPop.”
THE YO MOMMA VOCABULARY BUILDER
As part of our “Classless Education” series, this irreverent but educational book introduces a new word as a joke (“Yo momma's so emaciated, she can hula hoop in a fruit loop.”). The joke is followed by a humorous commentary, providing the definition and invoking pop culture phenomena like supermodels, the Olson twins, and Gollum from Lord of the Rings. Not just for word-lovers, this book was ordered by teachers looking to make learning fun for their classes.
GHOSTS OF ROCKVILLE - INTRODUCING MAGICVIEW TECHNOLOGY
Kid ghostbusters search for a mysterious artifact in this paranormal mystery. Ghosts of Rockville introduces “MagicView” - a plastic lenticular which when placed over most of the illustrations in the text, reveals hidden messages, clues or images. Turn the lens, and the image changes!
WOULD YOU RATHER…?
We expanded our demented Would You Rather…? series into a kids line. Lo and behold, we were commended with a YALSA award, recognizing excellence for books aimed at Reluctant Readers.
And of course, there were over a dozen Would You Rather…? books published in total.

MINDSPLOITATION: ASININE ASSIGNMENTS FOR THE ONLINE HOMEWORK INDUSTRY
By South Park Writer/Producer Vernon Chatman
There are hundreds of online companies that will do your homework for you — at a price. But will they write ANY essay you request? What does it say about our society that we can buy a quick custom eulogy for our grandmother, or pay to have a love poem for a mistress prepared by a stranger at the click of a button?
As an author, I’ve also written for major publishers including Random House, St. Martins, and Quirk.
And just a little bit of trivia:
